This home is not for everyone so, if you are looking for a home that’s ready to move straight into on day one, then maybe I’ve just saved you time, because if I’m honest, you wouldn’t want to here…..for starters, it needs carpets!

I’ve got to be careful because I don’t want to paint the wrong kind of picture, you could easily move in here on day one and live quite happily, the previous owner did for many years but….as time moves on peoples taste changes and that is what makes this home so great…….you can alter it until your hearts content because, we are offering it to you at a price where you can afford to make this home yours……and not somebody else’s……unlike other homes already done up!

Pulling up outside the front gates, the first thing I noticed was, they could do with a bit of a sanding down BUT how nice would they be once they’ve had a fresh coat of paint. As they opened up, they revealed an excellent space for parking numerous vehicles on it, a large area of grass sits to the left hand side of the driveway, offering even more scope for parking cars on. We understand that most families today have multiple cars, the children’s friends have cars and there never seems enough space to park…..well you don’t have that problem here……so that’s one box ticked already!

Walking along the concrete path towards the front door, a small shelter above it provides protection from the elements, while you struggle to find your keys on the dark evenings that will soon be upon us – so we’d suggest putting a light outside to assist and to speed entry into this home.

Upon opening the front door with its leaded window and stain glass feature, a generous sized hallway awaits us, kept nice and bright by front door and its accompanying side-kick window. A laminate floor adorns the floor and provides a degree of easy maintenance cleaning. High ceilings give us an even larger degree of space, doors open into the ground floor accommodation and a solid wooden banister takes us to the first floor night-time quarters.

Let’s start with the first door on the right as we walk in.

The lounge is a fabulous size, made even bigger by the beautiful bay window, which the more modern homes don’t put in anymore. This home was built when money wasn’t the critical ingredient in the design, comfort and standards were. Nice large coving defines the walls from the ceiling, cornicing borders the edges and provides another feature that we rarely find in todays more boring homes. A blocked off chimney breast at one time in life would have provided heat for the home, which could probably be re-instated quite easily with the help of a professional. You could open up the lounge with the dining room to create an even larger space but, I wouldn’t….just hear me out first.

From the lounge we walk into the next room which is the dining room, we call it a dining room but few people today would use this room as a dining room. It’s a generous sized room, again with a blocked off chimney breast, a large picture window looks out over the large rear garden. Now this is where this home comes into its own – you have a blank canvass to do with this home as you please – it’s priced so that the right buyer can make this into their long term family home, so what you do today to it will pay you back with happy family memories for a long time.

You could open the back wall up and put either another room on, say an orangery, which would give you a sense of the outside but inside. You’d need to check with planning first but this room would be like a conservatory, just with a slate roof on it and some skylights, so that when you sit in at night, the stars shine through. If you did this is would provide more seating, more seating means lots of friends and family gatherings all year round.

If you can’t be bothered to add this extra room on, then you could always still open this wall up to the outside and put so bi-folding doors on it, a small canopy on the outside would keep the elements out but the doors could stay open all year round, so you can enjoy the garden all year round!

The next little suggestion would be to take the wall out between the dining room and the kitchen to create a large space for eating in. You could have an island in the middle of the kitchen, with stools around so that you can socialise with your family or friends whenever you are cooking.
These are merely ideas of what you could do if you had the time and money to do it.

The kitchen has been recently fitted in a contemporary style and has floor and wall mounted storage units, there are work-surfaces to aid food preparation and storage of more modern day gadgets. A window and door provides light into this room and also an exit to the rear garden.

The garden is a great size, bordered by a new looking panel fence which offers privacy and security. A large area of grass will keep you busy throughout the year but will also provide room for the dog to roam around freely, or the children, or both or just you….which ever fits better. An area of concrete around the footings of the home allow space for the all important BBQ and alfresco dining, a small but solid shed provides a haven for essential garden equipment.

Back inside and up the stairs to the first floor accommodation – (although before we get there, I must point out that there is an understairs cupboard, handy for storing all the things we love to hide, hoover, ironing board, shoes, coats, husband etc….) You may even be able to put a downstairs toilet in there – but talk to a builder first!

As we reach the first floor landing, solid wooden floors lead to all of the bedrooms and family bathroom.

The main bedroom is a good size and has the same bay window that the lounge affords, but from up here it also comes with some far reaching views over Holywell.

Bedroom two is another good size and can easily accommodate a large double bed and its accompaniment’s. Views over the rear garden provides this room with peace and serenity.
The third bedroom is an ideal place for a toddler, now this can be used as an office or games room too, so ideal for that older toddler too!

Lastly, the family bathroom. This room is very compact, I think that's the correct word, but it's been kitted out with everything you’ll need on a daily basis,. It's got the obligatory white suite. a bath, a wash hand basin and of course the toilet, a radiator will keep your towels nice and toasty while you soak in the bath. A frosted window allows light in and prying eyes out and part tiled walls prevents water from getting into those other places you just don’t need it!
